Brilliant Directories pricing: what the tiers count and what changes the total

How Brilliant Directories plans are built: tier limits for members, emails and listings, add-ons, terms, the lifetime plan and a break-even check.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-23

Quick answerThe vendor's account pricing page lists three monthly tiers, Essentials, Builder and Pro, sorted by member capacity, with add-ons for extra members and emails. Its plans page shows a different layout with a lifetime plan. Amounts sit on the live pages; the break-even check here uses your own numbers.
Brilliant Directories is likely to fit when

✓ Entrepreneurs who want a paid directory or member site on one hosted account without custom code

✓ Associations and local publishers who sell memberships, featured listings or leads

✓ Owners who prefer one monthly bill over assembling plugins

✓ Owners who can accept a hosted platform's quotas and terms on code

Important limitations

— Owners who must host the platform code themselves

— Projects that need a permanently free plan for a first test

— Organizations whose main need is dues and a member database rather than public listings

— Owners who need unlimited listings and members on a fixed license

Brilliant Directories pricing: two plan layouts on the vendor's pages

The vendor shows its plans two ways on October 23, 2026. The account pricing page lists three monthly tiers named Essentials, Builder and Pro, each with a seven-day free trial and a limited-time yearly discount. The plans page lists one monthly plan beside a one-time lifetime plan, under a banner saying lifetime plans were going away.

Amounts are left to the vendor's live pages here, because they change with the monthly and yearly toggle and with timed offers. Open the page you will buy from and note the toggle state before you compare anything.

What each tier counts: members, emails, listings and storage

According to the account pricing page, the three tiers differ by these limits.

  • Essentials: 5,000 members, 5,000 emails a month, 500 Instant Business listings, 25 AI credits a month, 5GB of hosting storage (per the FAQ) and 3 team collaborators.
  • Builder: 25,000 members, 25,000 emails a month, 2,500 listings, 50 AI credits, 10GB and 10 collaborators. It adds discount codes, free-trial periods, gated content and API access.
  • Pro: 50,000 members, 50,000 emails a month, 5,000 listings, 150 AI credits, 20GB and 25 collaborators. It adds member analytics, developer tools and SEO ranking, backlink and site-health tools.
  • Every tier: AI creator tools, white-label branding, a custom domain, SSL and managed hosting, according to the page's FAQ.
  • The plans page lists different figures for its monthly plan: 100,000 members and 100 Instant Business records.

Add-ons, fees and taxes that change the total

A tier limit can be raised without changing tiers: extra members, emails and AI credits are sold in blocks for a small monthly amount, and storage or bandwidth is sold per gigabyte. Other items sit outside the tier fee.

  • Payment processing: the vendor says it takes no platform fee on your revenue and that only your own payment processor's fees apply.
  • Instant Business Data: listings are imported with credits. Every plan includes some, and extra bundles are sold separately.
  • Taxes: the terms say fees exclude taxes.
  • Billing: fees are billed in advance and renew automatically unless canceled, per the terms.
  • Refunds: add-ons, boosts and one-time purchases are non-refundable from the moment of purchase, per the terms.

The lifetime plan and the withdrawal banner

The plans page describes the lifetime plan as a one-time payment with lifetime hosting, lifetime email support and 1,000 Instant Business records, and says free initial setup is included. A banner on the same page said lifetime plans were going away that week. The terms exclude lifetime offers from the seven-day money-back guarantee.

If the one-time plan is still listed when you read this, note that exclusion and ask the vendor in writing what lifetime hosting and support cover. The terms also say existing customers keep their current rates for active products, while new orders are priced at the then-current rate.

Is it worth the fee? A break-even check with your own numbers

Worth comes down to whether paying members and listings cover the monthly cost with room to spare. Use your own figures at each step. None here are forecasts.

  • List the paying members or listings you expect in months one, six and twelve, using the tier's member capacity as the ceiling.
  • Multiply by what you will charge each, then subtract your payment processor's fees.
  • Add the tier fee, any add-ons, tax and the cost of your time or paid help for setup.
  • If month-twelve revenue does not clear the total, test with the free demo or a lower tier before you commit to a yearly plan.
  • Run the same sheet for a builder that counts cost differently, such as the ones below.

How other builders count cost, for comparison

Each vendor's live page has its figures, and only the structure is summarized here. The shortlist guide explains how to choose between them.

  • eDirectory: two cloud licenses and a one-time source license, all with unlimited listings and members and payment processing included.
  • Directify: tiers by listing and directory count, a free plan for one directory and payments that go to your own processor with no platform fee, per its pricing page.
  • Join It: tiers for membership organizations, with a percentage service fee on online transactions that shrinks on higher tiers, plus the payment processor's fees.
  • GeoDirectory: a free WordPress plugin with paid add-ons on yearly licenses. Paid listings use the Pricing Manager add-on, and you run it on your own WordPress site.
